III. Members

 

Article 5.-  The Association will have Associate Members and Collaborator Members.

 

Associate Members will be:

 

a.The institutions in charge of the surveillance and supervision of banking institutions in the Americas.

b.The institutions with significant banking supervision responsibilities as home supervisors of internationally active banks with operations in the region.

 

Collaborator Members will be:

 

a.The institutions with similar objectives as those of the Association.

 

b.The financial regulation institutions with no supervisory responsibilities.

c.The institutions that offer technical or financial assistance to the Association.

 

Each Associate and Collaborator Member will be represented by its highest-ranking executive or whomever the latter would designate before the Association.

 

Article 6.- To become an Associate Member, the highest authority of the monitoring and supervision of banking institutions shall present a written request to the Association Board of Director's Chairman, whom shall submit it to the consideration of the Assembly for its resolution.

 

Article 7.- To become a Collaborator Member, the highest authority of the interested entity would shall present a written request to the Association's Board of Director's Chairman, whom shall resolve it with the agreement of the Board.

 

Article 8.-   The Associate Members will have the following rights and obligations:

 

a.To participate in the Annual Assembly meeting;

b.To participate in the election of the Chairman and Vice chairman of the Board of Directors; as well as to have their regional representatives elected as Directors. Exception is made for Associate Members from the Non-Regional Group who shall not have the right to serve as a Director or to participate in the election of the Chairman and Vice-Chairman, unless the group has at least three members;

c.To have access to the activities and services organized by the Association in accordance with the programs approved by the Board of Directors;

d.To participate in the Board of Directors’ Committees and Working Groups;

e.To provide the Association with effective assistance in the fulfilling of its purposes;

f.To timely and adequately respond to the information requests and surveys sent by the Association;

g.To designate a liaison with decision-making powers for technical analysis, cooperation and training of the member institution; and

h.To timely and adequately make their annual contributions.

 

Article 9.-  The Collaborating Members will have the following rights and obligations:

 

a.To attend the Annual Assembly meeting;

b.To have access to the activities and services organized by the Association in accordance with the programs approved by the Board of Directors;

c.To participate in Working Groups;

d.To provide the Association with effective assistance in the fulfilling of its purposes; and

e.To timely and adequately make their annual contributions.
